TITLE: Farm Manager

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree (or U.S. equivalent) in Farm Management, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field and 24 months of full-time experience as a Farm Manager.

JOB DUTIES: Manage farm operations encompassing 12,000 swine and 1,000 acres of crops (corn and soybeans). Maintain operational and production records; and establish and administer policies pertaining to operations administration, facility maintenance, and safety. Ensure that all farming operations comply with all controlling legal and regulatory requirements. Conduct farm audits and inspections. Monitor farm infrastructure and equipment for necessary maintenance and repairs; and troubleshoot and ensure that all necessary maintenance and repairs are timely conducted. Plan and coordinate swine shipments, to include determining necessary quantities and scheduling. Monitor and maintain climate control and ventilation systems, water and feed provision and consumption, and swine health and growth. Ensure the swine facilities maintain sanitary and biosecurity protocols for health and safety. Address, and escalate to a qualified medical professional as needed, any health concerns pertaining to the health and safety of the swine. Direct and oversee all crop production lifecycle phases from initial planning and planting to harvesting. Manage seed, grain, and fertilizer supplies; and manage seed, grain and fertilizer storage. Direct and assist with the planting and harvesting of crops; and direct and assist in irrigation and fertilization of crops. Conduct routine inspections to assess the condition and growth of crops. Monitor crops for pests and diseases; and promptly address all pest and disease related issues to ensure the integrity of the crops. Develop and manage action plans to address unanticipated issues, such as pest infestations, droughts, and fires. Directly supervise two Farmworkers.
